Caribbean Basketball Networks takes this opportunity to mourn the passing of a legend, Godfrey McQuay.
McQuay was the Head coach of the the defending Basketball Champions in the Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools, The Prince William Hs Falcons. McQuay recently ascended to the ranks of record book status by leading Prince William Hs to the the championships in both the Junior and Senior Boys Divisions.
McQuay is the founder of one of the most successful programs on the Bahamian Basketball landscape, The Rockets Basketball Club. The Rockets are one of the few programs that have won at every level of competition in the last five years.
McQuay has worked with an innumerable amount of individuals that hold a place among the Bahamian Basketball Elite; Professionals Quientin Demmeritte, Emelike Delancy and Philip Huyler, Collegians Horatio “Yellow ” Poitier, Kennedy Polidor, Mitchell Johnson, Jamaar Bain, Sarone Kennedy, Taige Adderley, Michael and Alfred Delancy, Junior National Teamers Lorenzo Morris, Henderson Curry, Rashad Williams,Donothan Moss, Ollen Smith and Scottie Farrington just to name a few. These are just some of the many that Coach Godfrey McQuay has aided in their growth and development in his tenure as a head coach.

The Jack Heyward Hs Wildcats under the leadership of Head Coach Ivan Butler have been the premiere team coming out of Freeport for the last 8 years. The Wildcats have produced at least 8 collegiate basketball players (National Teamers Marvin Grey and Tomasio Dames, Collegians Gregory Munroe, Trevor Williams, Rashard Nesbitt, Chester Griffin and Jeffery Adderley -directly or indirectly) in that same period of time.
