Hello, My name is Bennet Davis jr. and Im am Caribbean Basketball Networks’ Bahamian Professional diary keeper. I am pleased to have this honor just for the simple fact that I was a collegiate basketball player just a few short months ago.
Last year I was a player at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and a second team all conference pick; now I’m in the first division of a premier league professional basketball league in Isreal. So it’s a good feeling to have all the hard work pay off. In the league that I play in, it’s very tough because of the high level of basketball. Many players that are often up and down between NBA squads I often have to compete against them every night. Players like Iowa State’s Marcus Fizer, who played for the Chicago Bulls for a stretch, Georgia Tech’s Will Bynum who played for the Golden State Warriors and the 2oo6 Big XII player of the year P.J. Tucker who got drafted by the Toronto Raptors are just some of the guys that are also playing in the league. So that basically should give you an implication of the type of talent that’s over there. You gotta bring your game every night too.
My team, Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan, finished seventh out of the 12 teams in the league, maccabiironiramatganlogo.gif which isn’t too bad when you consider that were talking bout first division basketball here. I finished averaging 7 round points, 5 rebounds per game with 1.5 blocks per so it was a solid run. I didn’t start the season off as a starter but I ended it as a starter, much like my career at Northeastern.
Yeah, as a result of the numbers and experience that I got over there, I have been invited to a few camps, Namely the NBDL camp from the 27th-29th of June. I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t really looking forward to that. Hopefully, I can show something and catch on with a squad…Yall keep me in your prayers and wish me luck…
Im Bennet Davis Jr. and this has been my Caribbean Basketball Networks Bahamian Professional Player Diary. Peace…
