Caribbean Basketball Networks: Hello, Brandon Jennings and welcome to Caribbean Basketball Networks.
Brandon Jennings:
Thanks man it’s a pleasure to talk with you.

Caribasket.net: First of all, the haircut…are you a fan of Gubmy?
Brandon Jennings:
(Laughs) Oh you gonna clown on my haircut…(laughs)…Nah, it’s the Kid and Play look, I just wanted to do something different so…(smiles)

Caribasket.net: Yeah, What age did you realize that you could do something with this game of basketball?
Brandon Jennings:
Like at around age 1o, I started playing with older cats and I just saw that I could hang.

Caribasket.net: What made you choose the University of Arizona in light of Famed Coach Lute Olsen possibly stepping away from the game?
Brandon Jennings:
Nah, we spoke he said he will be back for next year so im just looking to go in there and get it done. Jeryd Bayless (Editor’s note: Current pro prospect and University of Arizona guard) will be back there next year so…Im just looking to plug in, work hard and get it going from the minute I get there.

Caribasket.net: What are the goals that you have set up for your time at the college level?
Brandon Jennings:
My goal is to win a ring, 2oo9 National Champions or something…(smiles)

Caribasket.net: You and Bayless ala Mike Bibby and Miles Simon huh?
Brandon Jennings:
That’s exactly it! That the goal! Hopefully, we can pull it off.

(Random grip guy interjects the interview then says “Hey Brandon, we want to get you over here to get a spot with you” “Im with ESPN and I’m sorry, whoever you are but Brandon’s gotta go”)

Brandon Jennings: Hold on man, let me finish! I’ll be over there in a minute! Continue man.

brandonjennings.pngCaribasket.net: Have you played any international competition?
Caribasket:
Yeap, it was fun. It was fun to represent my country (Smiles). It was all good.

Caribasket.net: What do you think of International competition; anything stick out in particular?
Brandon Jennings:
It was cool, some of it was tough. Particularly Canada, they be hacking and slapping a lot. (laughing and playfully demonstrating a reaching, fouling and slapping motion on my arms). (Jennings pauses then points and looks directly into the camera then says). All that hacking…and slapping, hand checking and fouling…. All that WWE stuff ain’t even necessary; C’mon that ain’t basketball (pauses then laughs).

Caribasket.net: (Laughs) I’m going to print that, you know that right?
Brandon Jennings:
Good, when they read or see this they’ll know who they are. (laughs)

Caribasket.net: Have you ever played against anybody from the Caribbean?
Brandon Jennings:
Yeah, I remember playing some guards from the Bahamas when were playing a school from Georgia this year, they beat us at the National Championship tournament that’s why I remember; other than that, I played some hundreds of cats from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Africa, Europe, all over man.
