Caribbean Basketball Networks Player Profile
Alicia Musgrove
5′8 wing/Guard
St. Augustine’s College
Lady Rattlers AAU
Nassau, Bahamas
Alicia Musgrove is at or near the head of her class (2oo9). Musgrove is the daughter of one of the most successful Bahamian coaches and a former collegiate all conference player (Felix “Fly” Musgrove). One uncle was a former collegiate star (Gordon “Slanks” Musgrove); another is the president of the Bahamian Cycling Federation and a former National champion in the sport and a host of other relatives have all had better than average success in the sports of track and field and basketball. Musgrove is the latest member of one of the most historically successful sports families in the entire Bahamas to show athletic potential.
Musgrove every summer has added a new niche to her game, her aggressiveness, ball-handling and shooting are however her staples. Musgrove is also a better than average rebounder and this can be attributed to her aggressive on court personality. Musgrove also shows from years of playing a savvy that is years ahead of her counterparts; she often makes the simple correct pass and reads the floor effectively.
Musgrove has international and AAU competition under her belt. (She has traveled, played and garnered honors at virtually every major stop in her career thus far). The AAU Nationals in Orlando, Florida is just one of the events that she has competed at. As it stands presently, Musgrove has good prospects for participating at the collegiate level. Musgrove is at least worthy of some consideration for at the Njcaa or NAIA level. However, with further fine tuning and development in the other aspects of her game, because of her athleticism, other opportunities may be open to her in the future.
2oo6: 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
