Caribbean Basketball Networks Alert - The Frenzy

Caribbean Basketball Networks
The Frenzy

grandbahamabasketballcourt.jpg

Recently, the basketball Mecca of the universe, has turned its attention to the Caribbean, among other countries to get talented young prospects into the american system in hopes of grooming them for future success. It’s much like the elapsing of markets syndrome experienced by bigger wider known brands I.e. The Coke and Pepsi, Nike and Adidas lines and their market share stake in America. So in the sense of good business all entities must look outside of it borders to continue to feed the machine which exist. So with the attention being turned elsewhere and little or no structure being set up to receive such attention where the attention is being given; frenzy ensues and questions of credibility arise and linger greatly. This is for external representatives and individuals looking at the Caribbean for talented young prospects, events and/or coaches; here is how you wade through “The Extras” and get to the heart of the matter.

Caribbean Basketball Networks Senior Sendoff Series- Boman Mullings

Caribbean Basketball Networks
Senior Sendoff - Boman Mullings

bomanmullings-1.jpg

Boman Mullings, was the 2oo3 Hugh Campbell Most Valuable Player and he didn’t step foot inside of the free throw line for the entire tournament; with that said… no other introduction is really necessary. Mullings, the 6′4 wiry shooting guard who competed for Grand Bahama Catholic Hs in his high school days, is now putting the finishing touches on a Collegiate basketball career that has seen the peaks and the valleys. Luckily for Boman his career ends on a personal high note. We sat down with the Hugh Campbell Mvp turned HAAC all Conference player to get some reflections.

Caribbean Basketball Networks NCAA Final Four Coverage

NCAA National Championship Game

nationalchampionshipmatchup.jpg Without further ado, The 2oo8 NCAA National Championship game was finally upon us. In one corner with a 38-1 record and coming into the game with a 33 game winning streak, the John Calipari led Memphis Tigers. The Tigers were led on the

court by stellar freshman Derrick Rose and anchored by the always steady and sometimes spectacular Chris Douglas Roberts. The Tigers were clicking for most parts of the entire season and it was greatly due to their depth and the production of those two.

In the opposite corner, the Kansas Jayhawks. Kansas was at the brink of immortality back in 2oo3 but a last second block (By Syracuse’s Hakim Warrick) kept his team from corralling the trophy and taking it back to Lawrence to the Jayhawk faithful. However, This years team had a little bit of everything; the highlight reels were regularly filled by NBA prospects Brandon Rush and Darrell Arthur whilst the steadying hands of Russell Robinson, Sherron Collins and Mario Chalmers righted the ship for most of the season. Kansas’ team on this year, much like most years, averaged close to 8o point per game.
Gentleman Start your engines!!
